Credit Union Quiz 2019

Pictured below are two of our teams who entered the Credit Union quiz. They came third in a group of 11-12 different teams. The first group below came third in the U-13s group and the next team came third in the U-11s. They were exceptionally well behaved and worked very hard showing fantastic teamwork skills. They did really well as the questions were tough! Maith sibh and a big 'well done' to the other two teams who weren't far behind.

Healthy Eating Week in Scoil Chlann Naofa

Last week we had Healthy Eating week in our school. Parents received reminders about healthy lunchboxes, the children learned about eating well and making healthy choices and on Friday we had a great day. 5th and 6th made lots of healthy recipes including salads, smoothies, oat pancakes and porridge. The rest of us visited and even tasted some food. Rita and Natasha from the Parents' Association made delicious vegetable soup and we ate it with brown bread. 4th class brought in fruit and came up with smoothie ideas. We made three different types and had great fun making them and trying them out. Please check out our Healthy Eating policy by clicking on the button,'Policies', above. We hope that the children can continue their healthy lunches at home and into the future. Thanks to the parents for your support.

Safer Internet Day 2019

This Tuesday, February the 5th, it is Safer Internet Day. This year the theme of the day is 'Together for a Better Internet'. Teacher will use available sources such as the MYSELFIE resource which is available at Webwise.ie This is the perfect time for parents to discuss their children's use of and safety on the internet. If you click on the Webwise link above you will find a 'Parents' button on the homepage. This features 'advice', 'apps explained', 'videos for parents', a 'how to' section and more. As we talk about Internet Safety at school, it is essential that you discuss what the children are doing in their online lives.
