Station teaching in Senior Infants

The children in Senior Infants have been busy revising over their sounds recently. They really enjoyed taking part in station teaching where each group moved around stations, spending time at each activity. All the activities were hands on and active. Take a look at some of the children working hard in the stations below:

School trip to Tullyboy farm

The children from Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First class visited Tullyboy farm on Wednesday, 9th of May. Children from the Hunt N.S. came on the tour as part of the Peace IV Programme. All the children had a really enjoyable day and took part in lots of activities such as a tractor & train ride, milking the goats and feeding the animals. The straw dive and the puppies were just some of the many highlights of the day. Thanks to Farmer Matt and all the staff in Tullyboy for a great trip.

Planetarium Visit

During April we went to the Planetarium in the community centre. The parents' association organised it for us. The Planetarium was a giant dome that you sat inside of. Inside the Planetarium there was a projector in the middle. The projector projected the planets, constellations and a movie onto the inside of the dome. For different classes there were different movies about planets and our solar system.Everyone learned a lot about our solar system and everyone  had a lot of fun.

FAI soccer tournament

Seven girls from 6th class took part in the FAI soccer finals on Wednesday, 18th April. They travelled to Manorhamilton where they played three matches. They drew with Drumshanbo, lost to Carrigallen and beat The Four Masters N.S., Kinlough. This meant the girls came overall runners-up in their group. It was a great achievement for the girls and a very enjoyable day. Well done to all the girls involved.
